Yes there is a pattern for it! Keep reading to learn how to take the Cassidy Skirt - a NO PRINT ruffle skirt pattern to a cutie pie dupe of the viral VRG GIRL bow skirt.

To start download the pattern below and get to sewing your own ruffle skirt. Then come back here for a couple extra steps to take the Cassidy Skirt to the next level.

HOT TIP: if you need to size up from the available size range add increments of 2.5 cm to the width measurement to reach your desired size.

STEP ONE: CUTTING THE PATTERN

Cut four strips out of the same fabric you made the Cassidy Skirt in.

For the case you will need two rectangles the width of your top skirt (found in the pdf linked above) x 5.5cm. For the bow cut two strips the width of the bottom skirt x 7cm. If you would like longer bows add extra width.

Remember to halve the width if you’re cutting on the fold.

STEP ONE

Take the two longer strips for the bow and fold them in half lengthwise. Press them with an iron to create a crisp fold. With a 1cm seam allowance, stitch across one short edge to close it. Then, pivot 90 degrees and continue stitching along the long edge. Leave the other short end open. Using a loop turner, carefully turn the strip inside out. Once fully turned, press it flat with an iron to create a smooth and even finish.

STEP TWO

Close the open end of the strip by topstitching it with your sewing machine for a quick and secure finish. Alternatively, if you prefer a more seamless look, use a hidden stitch by hand to neatly close the opening. Press the strip again with an iron to finish.

step three

Take the two shorter strips for the casing and fold each short edge over by 2.5cm. Press firmly to set the fold.

Next, fold the long edges towards the center by 1cm on each side. Press well until the folds are crisp and hold in place.

Step Four

To create the casing, pin it to the middle seam of the Cassidy skirt, ensuring it is positioned 1cm away from the side seam.

Topstitch close to the folded edges, securing the casing in place. Be sure to leave both shorter edges open so you can insert the tie later. Press the stitching for a neat finish.

step five

Attach a safety pin to one end of the remaining strip and carefully feed it through the casing, guiding it through until it emerges from the other side.

Adjust the strip to your desired tightness, then tie it into a neat bow. Give your skirt a final press, and you're done—your skirt is complete!
